Het trio blijft onverminderd op zoek naar nieuwe mogelijkheden van samenspel. Traditie en eigen inbreng worden speels verweven in een aansprekende smeltkroes van milde anarchie, stuiterende swing, krokante akkoorden, mélodies trouvés, bezielde ballads, woogie-tunes en interim-partituren.  Het trio werkt regelmatig samen met gasten zoals  Mars Williams  en  Han Buhrs , en op projectbasis als het  Blue Lines Sextet , met Ada Rave (tenorsaxofoon), Bart Maris (trompet) en Wolter Wierbos (trombone).  Michiel Scheen en Raoul van der Weide werkten reeds meerdere decennia met toonaangeve
